Books, get your books here!

Ok, here's some of my books that I'm trying to give away.....but first here's a Coupon from "The Goddess Within" coupon book.

Be Tara, Hindu goddess of communication, sound, and poetry, and practice your creative writing skills. If you don't have one, go out and buy a cool journal.

I already have too many journals and not enough writing, so if one of you guys need one, see me.

Enchantment by Kathleen Nance- "Sultry Alluring. Tempting. The woman in the New Orleans bar was pure sin and sex in a stunning package. And for once, hardworking, practical- minded Jack Montgomery let himself be charmed. He had sworn he would not let magic hold sway over him again, yet passion was another matter. But no sooner had he taken the beautiful stranger in his arms than he discovered his mistake: Lovely, dark-haired Leila was far more than exotic; she was a genie. When he kissed her, heat lightning flashed around them, the air sparkled with color and a whirlwind transported him out of this world. Literally. Trappen with Leila in the land of the Djinn, Jack would have to choose between the principles of science that had defined his life and something dangerously unpredictable and unsettling..." It was not really my sort of book, it seemed slightly contrived for me. I'm not sure. It was a two-read.

The Knight's Kiss by Nicole Burnham- "He lived once upon a time! When beautiful Princess Isabella of San Rimini needed an expert to probe the secets of the royal palace, all roads led directly to dark, mysterious Nick Black-a contemporary example of potent masculinity if ever there was one. Yetthanks to a medieval curse, Nick Black had been around for a long time... a very long time. In fact, once he'd been known as Domenico, an overzealous knight who would never know peace-or mortality-until he learned to put someone else's welfare above his own. In taking this assignment, Nick hoped to find an ancient trick to break the spell. Little did he know that close contact with her lovely highness, Isabella, might help him to find mortality-and love-the old-fashioned way! At the time I bought this book, I just couldn't resist. I had to do a double-take of the cover. The guy in the picture looked almost exactly the same as Nick C. When I flipped the cover to read the background info on the book, that was it. I had to have the book. Now that I'm engaged to John however, it's time to put this book to rest. I enjoyed reading this one, and hope one of you guys would as well.

This next book it the only non-romance book, if any of you enjoy suspense books, here it is!

Sacred Sins
by Nora Roberts- "In the lazy days of summer, a merciless heat wave is the biggest story in Washington, D.C. But the wather is knocked off the front pages when a young woman is found strangled to death. A note left behind reads 'Her sins are forgiven her.' Two more victims soon follow, and suddenly every headline is devoted to the killer the press has dubbed 'The Priest.'

"When the Police sk top-notch psychiatrist Dr. Tess Court to help with their investigation, she comes up with a disturbing portrait of a twisted soul.

"Detective Ben Paris doesn't give a damn about the killer's psyche. When can't easily dismiss is Tess. Tall, drak, and good-looking. Ben had a legendary reputation with women, but the coolly elegant Tess doesn't react to him like other women he's known-and he finds the challenge enticing. Now, as the two are thrown together in a perilous quest to stop a serial killer, the flame of white-hot passion flares. But someone also has his eyes on the beautiful blond doctor...and Ben can only pray that if the madman strikes, he'll be able to stop him before it's too late..."
I don't remember reading this one, so I can't give my opinion on it.

Well that's it for now. Four down and nine to go. Please let me know if I should continue or just give them to dad to give away.

My first day of "freedom"

My last day of work was last Saturday and it felt really surreal. I mean, I've been at the Science Center in some capacity or another for a full seven years and two months and now I've cut all ties. I was down in reservations the whole day and I couldn't enjoy any of the "Moonstock" activites because if it even though I decided to dress the part. Goodbye tantrumish kids who don't want to leave the SC because they are having too much fun, goodbye Segways :( and goodbye great colleagues and lunchtime conversations which result in creative endevours.

Yesterday John and I went to Six Flags and rode most of the rides. A heads up Moues, Tom may not be able to fit in the seats on "The Batman, "Mr. Freeze" or "Xcalibur" (which was a short ride, but it didn't have much of a line because it could fit a lot of people and though was worth the wait). John wasn't really sitting down on "The Batman" because the molded seats didn't fit right for him. I seriously doubt he'll be joining me on that one again, which is sad because as Moues knows, I love that one over all of the coaster rides.

Today John text messaged me to let me know that we got the house he wanted, so we'll be able to begin moving my stuff on next Monday so today I've begun packing my books and breaking down my cube shaped shelves. After tommorrow I'm not going to have any time to do this because I'm going to be in North Carolina with John's family for a memorial service for his grandpa on his dad's side of the family.

BTW, I've got a lot of books at home that I'm trying to get rid of, please let me know of any of you guys want 'em.

Mee-Yow!!!

So, Cats is playing at the Muny June 5th through the 11th. Who's interested in going?

I called Jess, Laura didn't pick up, and I know T checks here regular-like. Hopefully I'll hear from Von and Chris soon. If not, spread the word, spread the love. I'd rather someone be asked three times than not at all. Cappish? Cappish.

Good days for me- Monday the 5th through Wednesday the 7th and Sunday.

(Von, just because you sign up for a blogger account doesn't mean you have to create another blog, or abandon your opendiary. However, it will mean you can write/comment on this one. Please, please sign up so you can reply to this! Otherwise, you have my phone number and e-mail.)
