Chickies, I have found a great site!
It's about Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. Definitely worth seeing.

Welcome back! Part 2

So off I went to my second and last class, right after spending an hour and a half in the library. Apparently, Comp II focuses on argument. Goody. There's also gonna be some research later on. You know that "game" that teachers play on the first day where everybody goes around the room naming everybody and themselves? Yep, we did that. Lots of moans and groans from us.
We got out of class early, so I went over to the bookstore to get the books I needed. I must have spent 20 minutes in line, during which it began to rain. Thankfully I could walk through different buildings and under covered walkways so I wouldn't get soaked on my way to the front circle so my MIL could pick me up. It was raining pretty hard all afternoon with lots of lightning and thunder. Very cool.
Well, that's it! Here's to a good, and short, semester!

Welcome back!

Well kiddies, it was the first day of school for me! So far, I've been to my voice class, and I have to wait until 12:30 for my College Comp. II class, then I'll buy my books and I'll be home by about 2:30 or so.
My voice teacher is a hoot! She reminds me of Mrs. Shin from the Music Man, except fit for today's world. She had us do impressions and stuff together to loosen us up, and one thing she did was talk in a high British accent, which reminded me of the character. It's a good class. We mainly talked about breathing; no big surprise. I think I'm gonna like this class... ^_^
Well all, I'll probably write more when I get home and let you know how the rest of my day went. No homework so far! Woohoo!

New Driver on the road, watch out!

Just passed my driver's test. It was a seventy-two but did you know that was so great? I passed the parallel parking!!!!! John ended up taking a 2 1/2 hour lunch to accomodate me so he's going to be working overtime today, I expected that though. Tommorrow John and I are going to get my license, now I'm feeling even more nervous that before the test!!!

This evening John and I are going to Red Lobster's for dinner. After that, I guess the old "Toy" truck is mine. It's a good thing I like driving it. Now this means that I'm going to have to get an $85 dollar parking pass for the semester. It's a good thing my first class begins at 8am, that means I get the choice spots. I'm planning on popping my bike into the back of the truck and locking it in during classes. That way I can leave the campus for the historic section of Cape for lunch and still keep my choice spot. What do you guys think?

Ouch!!!

Just yesterday night while John and I were taking a shower, the shampoo fell off the ledge (a high ledge as we have a shower and a bath separate in the master bedroom) and fell on my toesies!!! Luckily I didn't have any bruising however I do have a cut crossing my toe next to the big guy just behind the cuticle. You can bet I won't be doingmuch on the Dance Dance Revolution for a while.

News from Cape

Finally getting settled into the new house. Don't have the library unpacked but John has the computer room partially set up (at least one computer, pretty soon he's supposed to have a wireless setup for my comp, but we're not t0 that part just yet). Just yesterday I set up a new phone number (email me goddesses if you want the number!) Also met with my advisor and signed up for classes. Now I need to bump my GPA up to a 2.5 or higher from a 1.67. The reason I need to get a 2.5 GPA is so that I can get into the teaching school. I need a 2.5 minimum GPA and a 265 on the C-Base (a test which is required to get into the SEMO Teaching school). I'm retaking two of the classes that I failed over the second semester of SEMO and my first semester of Meramec. I'm hoping I do better in the Cultural Anthropology course than I did on the telecourse (I somehow suspect that I will). With John's help I hope to do much better in the College Algebra. New courses is one on Economics and my fun course is Pilates. Originally I wanted to a a ceramics course or a dance cours as my fun one but the only dance class remaining filled up while we were talking about it and the Ceramics course overlapped with my other classes. I dropped below full-time (twelve hours) because I knew I needed one fun course whatever it was. I couldn't do more than twelve hours though as when I came back from a break they put me back on academic probation (which is better than academic suspension).

News

I wasn't sure if Lar would be able to write for a while, so I thought I'd update a bit for her until she can write again. JR's coming back on Thursday! They went to get him yesterday, and he graduates tomorrow, then they'll come back and go home (they're living with his mom). Let us know what else happens, sweetie!

Also, Ry's coming to visit this weekend! Plus, I got an invite from a school friend of mine. Rhema's getting married next Tuesday in Arkansas! Her fiancé looks like a nice guy. Good luck you two!

That's all for now. See you all later!
