Sorry I haven't written much in a while...

Moueska knows this, but I went down to Cape Girardeau for a week. My original plan was to take my test on Monday so that I could take that car and explore on my own. The Fates had other plans for me (sometimes you want to throttle those three, wouldn't you agree?). When Grandma Hanschen (John's grandma) supervised my driving over there and so I waited. Unlike any of the places to take the driver's tests in St. Louis, it doesn't take that long before you have a state trooper ready to have you take the test. Although, the trooper wouldn't let me take the test. Because I had failed three time two years ago I needed some letter that I had been sent to take it again. I'll go into more detail on this later on on this. So instead I just had to have his grandma with me all week, it kind of put a damper on my exploration.

I filled out the form for returning students and turned that in, now I need to see about getting my Meramec transcripts. I'm biting my nails as to whether on not they'll let my go back to Cape, otherwise I don't know what I'll do. Apparently a lot of the teachers that I used to have are still going there, a few I'm looking forward to seeing again but a few in scared to see again. A perfect example of this is Dr. Bonnie Steppenoff. Now she herself isn't what's so frightening. I failed my Historic Preservation course miserably. I know I'm going to have to take it again, but she's the only one out of the HP profs that does it.

One of the evenings John and I drove around the area somewhat close to college. The house I adored was still there, and still on sale. We didn't stop to walk around it although John had already been through it and I had drooled over in in my freshamn year of college. We did find a duplex that we thought was nice that was really close to work for John and relatively close to a bike/hike trail. John and I thought that we would like it (that is after we went throught it) so John has finished off the application and he's supposed to send it in. Hope they haven't already rented it.

Most of my weekend was spent lounging, reading and a little exploring of the forest area around his grandma's house.

Once in a while...

He don't wanna caa-aaa-aaall you...

Actually, that's not the truth. But sometimes Drac can be damn hard to get ahold of. I have nothing to complain about, really. He's such a great guy. *huggles Drac*

Spent the night over at his house, watched Master and Commander. Not a bad movie, really. But I'm glad that I watched it on DVD and didn't sit through it at a movie theatre. If you see it for anything, see it for the Doctor. A scientist, a physician, a naturalist... and cultured! It also has Merry! As in LOTR! Of course, Russel Crowe plays his part well, but there's just something to be said about a man that won't give up the fight and go back home. Of course, if he did, there wouldn't be a movie. It would have been a helluvalot shorter with less of a plot, anyway.

Hmmm... what's everyone doing this week?

Ancient Worlds

Has anybody seen it yet? I signed up sometime last year, but forgot about it until this afternoon. It's ok, not as good as Ancient Sites, but it'll do for now. The added Germania and just recently added the Orient. Very interesting.
I am Ceibhfhionn Brigantes in Celtia. Yeah, I started into it again today, but with most things I get into, I probably won't do as much there. Oh well. It's still fun.
Ok, I won't dominate the blog. See ya around!

Boot Camp, Here He Comes!

Sunday night, JR has to report to a hotel and they'll ship him off to boot camp Monday morning. Good luck, brother-in-law!
It was so nice to see JR and M talking on Thursday night. They were out in the backyard tossing this tomahawk into an old tree stump. They were talking and carrying on like good friends. Well, good friends that have known each other for about a week or so, but still.

He'll be gone for ten weeks, last I heard. Ten weeks of the military asking themselves, "What have we gotten ourselves into?" He'll do so well, they'll wonder how they ever got along without him. Lar says this man eats, sleeps, breathes the military. I'll bet he even pees in camo. (Eeeew, gross thought...)
You've got some great potential, man. Give the military a run for its money!

Oh Headache!

...and toothache. Guess what I got taken out? My tongue and lower mouth is numb. I expected this though.

I saw Harry Potter at the SC on the opening performance. Let me tell you, the extra 5 bucks more for this movie make it worth it. Guys, let me know of you want to see it at the SC. I'll give you guys a discount (unfortunately I can only give you a buck per ticket, but save the stub, when you are leaving you can use it for free parking).

It's Wedding Weekend, Charlie Brown!

I'm soooo excited! I can't wait to see my baby sister getting married. Earlier this week, I was freaking out slightly about how things were going, and it's not even my wedding! But I know it's going to be great.

Good luck to Lar and JR!

We love you!

Short Music for Short People

T, Laura, and Jess... you guys all have to listen to this CD with me. I mean, some of the songs are out of this stratosphere. I know Von needs to listen to at least five of them. Thing is, there's 101 songs on the CD, all 30 seconds or less. The first one is 8 seconds and called "Short Attention Span". Is that not awesome?

Killswitch
"Saturday Night"

That ching in the head
The hole in the heart
You know just what I mean
3AM Saturday Night

And that's how they all are! I mean, there are some really suprising songs on here... not to mention songs soaked in expletives ("Family Reunion" is a Blink 182 song that will never be played on the radio), but even those tend to be a weird sort of good!

Anybody in for hearing them? (Even you Athene, but I reeeeeally don't know if you'd like 'em.)

Weekend Update

Hello all! Sorry it's been a while since I've been on. Our power went out on Sunday evening and did not return until Monday evening while I was with my parents. Then when I got home, I watched a couple movies with M and didn't get back online until about half an hour ago.
But hey, it's good to see all of you here! I talked to Lar and she said that the rehearsal will be at the church (if you need directions, just ask) at 4:00 p.m. Unless that changes, then she'll probably get on and let us know. Woncha, Lar? ^_^
Has everybody seen the new Yahoo messenger yet? I just downloaded it this afternoon. It looks good so far. I'll play around with it for a while after this and letch'all know what I think of it. Or if anybody else has it and wants to comment, then have at it.
Well, I guess the next time I see all of you will be Wedding Weekend! Congrats and Good Luck to Lar and JR. And Brooke, too!
